Attention Union Parents/Guardians:

Beginning today, you will have access to your Parent Portal where you will find your child’s transportation arrangements for the 2025-2026 school year. This includes your child’s bus assignment, bus stop location, and bus pick-up and drop-off times. If your child is a walker, there will be no bus information listed.

Note: Every student is routed to and from their home. Any changes you made for childcare and custody last year will be reset to home this year. All transportation change requests that have been received so far this year have been processed.

NEED TO MAKE CHANGES TO TRANSPORTATION?
If your child’s pick-up or drop-off location needs to be different than what is listed—due to childcare or custody arrangements—please submit a transportation change request by submitting the attachment below.

Please note:
  • Changes will only be made with this form.
  • Students will be assigned to one morning bus and one afternoon bus. Requests to switch buses on different days of the week will not be accepted (unless provided with a custody agreement).
  • If you’ve recently moved, please contact your school’s secretary to update your address. The Transportation Department cannot process address changes related to moves.

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

According to Pennsylvania Law, non-public school students are entitled to transportation to non-public schools as follows:

  1.  A district which provides transportation for resident public school students must also make identical provisions for the transportation of resident non-public school students according to the non-public school’s calendar.
  2. Transportation for non-public school students must be provided to and from the non-public school in which the student is enrolled, even if the non-public school is located outside the district, so long as the distance is not more than 10 miles beyond the district’s boundaries. (Note: This distance may be in excess of 10 miles from the student’s home.)
  3. A district may transport students who live along hazardous routes even though the students live within walking distance of the school.
  4. There may also be times when non-public or charter schools choose to go with a delayed opening and Union School District does not. When that happens, the Union School District will honor the request. Students will be transported according to the delayed schedule requested by the non-public or charter school.
  5. If the Union School District is closed due to the weather or emergency conditions, transportation will not run, even if the non-public or charter school is open. If the Union School District has a two-hour delay, all Union School District non-public and charter school buses will run on the two-hour delay schedule.

If you believe you are eligible and would like to request transportation, please complete the Request for Transportation Under Act 372 form and return to your non-public school immediately.

This form should also be used to indicate an address change.

Non-Public Administrators/Designees:
Please forward the Act 372 form to Megan Hepler, Union School District Business Office, either via e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or fax at 814-473-8201.

Every effort shall be made to determine the pattern of growth for each child, so that his weight and height can be interpreted in light of his own growth pattern rather than those of his classmates.”

NOTE: The Department of Health BMI-for-age percentile categories match the CDC BMI-for-age percentile categories as follows:

  • Underweight: < 5th percentile
  • Healthy Weight: 5th - < 85th percentile
